Details. A good editorial design stems from the detail it reflects, apart from a keen eye for design aesthetics, or typo errors, balance in typography, and color control. Some see financial reporting as a boring job, but it is the exact opposite because so much comes to play when orchestrating a truckload of information. The goal is to breathe a clear design direction into the flow and excite readers at every turn of the paragraphs. It's a good chance to make boring stuff shine using design languages.

I can hardly remember how many logos I have designed so far, but I do recall the ugly ones. Yes, I've done ugly ones too and those are my amateur days. One thing I've learned about creating a professional logo is exposure itself. A good design demands a designer to be exposed to other successful logos and knows the difference in why it succeeds compared to others. A good eye helps. Then they are the full spectrum of brand identity in a set of stationery designs, so a logo design is just the sum of the total brand experience.
